WORDPRESS PLUGINS | video-gallery

A demonstration page for a gallery plugin exists to answer a question the feature list cannot: what it looks like with real content in it. A thumbnail layout in particular has to be seen — how the grid reflows on a narrow screen, whether long captions push the rows out of alignment, how an item announces that it holds a video rather than a picture.

What a demo page does not show is the part that decides whether a gallery is worth installing. Thumbnails have to be generated and cached, or every visitor downloads full-size images. Items need their loading deferred, or a page of many pictures blocks everything behind it. And the markup has to leave alternative text intact, or the gallery quietly removes the images from search and from a screen reader. A demo answers the appearance question; the rest is answered on your own site. This page is kept as a record of the demonstration published on this domain.
